This Western Diamondback was found sunning on a south facing hillside concealed in short grass. If you were walking past this animal and not looking for it, you probably would never see it. In the wild a rattlesnake will almost never rattle unless disturbed. This snake laid perfectly still and let us take pictures for over 10 minutes without moving or rattling once.
