Rattlesnake man Ken Childers went on to be with the Lord on September 14th, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. A couple of years ago, after he was no longer able to snake hunt, he transferred the website over to a couple of his snake hunting buddies, Brad and Jeremy whom he loved hunting with. Brad and Jeremy later felt it was better to leave the website as-is rather than modify it to maintain Ken's legacy. The paragraphs below and the rest of this website capture the spirit of Ken, what he loved and what he belived in, and will remain unaltered as a tribute to the one and only Rattlesnake man.

I live in the Arkansas Ozarks, one of the most beautiful places God ever created. If you ever get a chance to visit, don't pass it up, you will not be disappointed. Whenever the chance arises, we try to hunt anywhere rattlesnakes are found. We hunt with cameras only and do not collect snakes.

This website is for educational and conservation purposes and to share with you the beauty of the wild. There is nothing more relaxing to me than being in the absolute middle of nowhere looking for rattlesnakes. We use only "CATCH & RELEASE" when hunting snakes. They are hard enough to find without thinning the population out any further. Rattlesnakes do not hunt people nor do they want to bite them. If this were true, there would be thousands upon thousands of people bitten every year, instead rattlesnake bites are rare and deaths from rattlesnakes bites are even rarer. Most reliable statistics put deaths in the United States from venomous snake bites at around 4-5 per year. Most bites are caused by people trying to handle a venomous snake and a majority of those are alcohol related or from someone trying to show off. I have encountered hundreds of rattlesnakes in the wild and by far the majority of them will lay perfectly still, not make a sound and hope their camoflauge will hide them. Usually, only when they are disturbed will they rattle, then they will almost always try to get away first. If they strike, it is because they are afraid and are trying to defend themselves. In their world, anything larger than they are is probably trying to eat them.

Unlike most people involved in rattlesnake conservation, I do not believe in evolution. If you spend as much time as I have in the wild and have seen how well rattlesnakes and all other animals fit into their enviroments, you can't help but believe there was a divine hand in creating all of this. I believe conservation and education become even more important when viewing animals as created rather than evolved.
